My approach to therapyIn our fast-paced society, time is valuable and limited. Emotional stability and mental health becomes critical in bringing about greater peace and balance in our lives and to the lives of our families and loved ones.
As a therapist, my job is to create a safe, non-judgmental space to allow for the exploration of vulnerable and sometimes difficult feelings and issues. A therapist does not "fix" nor cure problems. A therapist does not simply tell clients what to do. My role is to gently guide and empower clients to develop their own strengths and resources to deal with the challenges that come with life or mental health issues. I have specialized training and experience working with mood disorders, grief/loss, eating disorders, personality disorders, sexual abuse/trauma and children/adolescents. I use a variety of clinical frameworks, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy for children and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am continually learning new techniques and interventions to provide the most effective and efficient therapy possible. I welcome the opportunity to become a part of your therapy experience. |
